Best of the Beach was conceptualized in 2001 by Elaine Martin. Elaine's vision was to create a store that offered an eclectic confluence of offerings reflecting island lifestyle. The store would be bright, bold, fun, simple, and elegant with an ever-changing inventory that enhanced the customer buying experience. Best of the Beach opened in the spring of 2002.

Elaine and her staff combine over 30 years of retail experience and are totally committed to customer satisfaction. The entire staff believes that Best of the Beach must remain intriguing and exciting and never be perceived as your "typical store". Customers frequently describe the store as "A Breath of Fresh Air."
